ZAMBIA HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTS
Zamhort was sold to Foodcorp Limited for a total package of US$3,565,000
inclusive of commited working capital expenditure. Zamhort is a multipurpose
fruit and vegetable processor,canner and bottler capable of producing fruit
juices, fruit pulps and concentrates, tomato paste, ketchup, corned beef,
canned meat, soft drinks, jams and marmalades. With the entry of Foodcorp,
a major food supplier of Shoprite/Checkers, Pick 'n' Pay and Spur, some
of the brand names previously imported will be made locally.
