| The Zambia Privatisation Agency ( Zpa ) invited Expressions of Interest from Technically and Financially qualified parties for the acquisition by competitive tender of 30% shareholding with management control in Ndola Lime Company (NLC). This offer presented an opportunity to own and operate the largest lime producing company in Zambia. Tenders closed on Friday 26th March, 2004 and five bids were received. Negotiations are currently in progress with Athi River Mining Limited of Kenya, the preferred bidder. |
The
Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ), has since mandated Zambia
Consolidated Copper Mines - Investments Holdings (ZCCM-IH) to take over the
operations of Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL). The Zambia Privatisation Agency
(ZPA) is, therefore, in the process of handing over MCL to ZCCM-IH, in line with
the guidelines given by Government. Accordingly, Maamba Katuya Consortium, the
preferred bidder, has since been informed of this development.View Full Company Profile For Maamba Collieries Limited |
